TRANSCRIPTION SERVICES

Transcription is extremely sensitive, complex and highly pressured work. In the case of dual language transcription it requires linguists with exceptional skills and qualities. Our linguists not only possess the required skills but are also experienced in transcribing, particularly in the legal sector. Transcription services are requested on a regular basis. Generally, the transcription process involves a professional native linguist to listen (watch in the case of video) a recording and write down exactly what is being said including pauses and hesitations. This stage is onerous as several factors, such as the number of speakers, subject in discussion, quality of recording, clarity/speed of speech, background noise and level of language (professional, slang or colloquial) including dialects, impact at this stage.

The transcribed text is then translated by a native translator into the target language. A second native linguist is tasked to proofread the translation, in conjunction with audio proofing of the transcribed text to enhance quality of the translation. We have trained our linguists to produce transcriptions of highly complex recordings and to present them in a reader friendly format.
